Robert Dotson, CTIA Vice Chairman, President & CEO, T-Mobile USA; Dan Hesse, Chief Executive Officer, Sprint Nextel Corporation; Lowell McAdam, CTIA Chairman, President & CEO, Verizon Wireless; Craig McCaw, Chairman, Clearwire; John Stanton, Founder, Trilogy Partnership; and Marco Boerries, Executive Vice President, Connected Life Division, Yahoo! Inc. The three carrier CEOs shared their unique insights on the industry’s evolution toward open networks, while McCaw and Stanton discussed the industry’s 25 year history and their thoughts on the next 25 years.
Day One also featured a wide variety of CTIA Educational Sessions. These comprehensive, in-depth sessions were broken into five different "tracks" or categories: Mobile Enterprise, The Business of Mobile Entertainment, Mobile Web 2.0, Marketing – the Mobile Channel, and Policy Outlook.
Among the many sessions were in-depth examinations of such topics as: Utilizing Mobile Broadband: Investing for the Future; Location Based Services in Enterprise – Enabling Productivity; Launching Mobile TV - Creating Compelling User Experiences Mobile Web 2.0 – The Carrier Perspective; and Mobile Marketing Ecosystem: What Carriers Want.

Jim Balsillie, Co-Chief Executive Officer, Research In Motion; and Shantanu Narayen, President and CEO, Adobe Systems Incorporated. CTIA President and CEO Steve Largent hosted the keynote session, and shared with attendees the news of an industry-wide initiative that will assuredly spur significant growth in mCommerce.
A wide range of educational sessions were also on tap, from Handset Capabilities – What’s Next? and Multi-Player Games: A Natural for Mobile?, to Retail Card-Based Payments to Transactions via Mobile Devices and Consumers, Mobile Devices, and LBS – Defining the Marketing Zen Moment.
CTIA also featured an enlightening slate of public policy forums, including sessions on New Technologies and Wireless Network Evolution; and Market Realities

Trip Hawkins, Founder and CEO, Digital Chocolate, moderated the session, which included a live focus group of teenagers and findings of a national teen survey conducted by Harris Interactive in conjunction with CTIA.
